Helen Lorraine Malmgren Miller

Helen Lorraine Malmgren Miller died Sunday October 26, 2025 in Pleasanton, California. Thirty days before her 91st birthday.

Helen Lorraine Malmgren was born on November 25, 1934 in Petaluma, California to Bror Henry Malmgren and Georgia Maria Schuler. Helen was the fifth of five children; Dorothy Shaw, Alice Gundstrom Bone, Henry Malmgren and Robert Malmgren.

Helen was baptized at Petaluma Presbyterian Church (First Presbyterian Church) and was a lifetime member. She was a long time member of the Petaluma Women's Club. She graduated from Petaluma High School in 1954.

Helen met her husband Guindell “Slim” Miller at the Petaluma Hatchery in 1957. They were married August 24, 1957. They had two children. Slim died in 1988. Helen is survived by her daughter, Guineth Miller Van Dyke (Korbin Van Dyke); son, Kenton Miller; grandson, Treg Van Dyke (Shelly Van Dyke); and granddaughter, Sarae Van Dyke (Brock Miller). Helen always enjoyed reading up until her final days. She always talked about her books, knitting projects & ceramics. She loved a good jigsaw puzzle on a rainy day.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 30th at 1:30pm at Cypress Hill Memorial Park: 430 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma.
