Helen E. Newman

Helen E. Newman, age 89 of Whiting passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Artis Senior Living, Brick. Helen was born in Spring Lake Heights and grew up in Wall Township before moving to Whiting in 1999. She worked for 37 years at Mutual Aid Savings & Loan, Manasquan. Helen was a member of West Belmar United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was known for making the sauce for the spaghetti dinners. She was currently a member of the Lacey United Methodist Church, Forked River. She enjoyed doing crafts but here greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Harry, grandson Evan, brother Robert and sister Janice. She is survived by her children: Joy, Barbara (Denis), Richard (Susan), Donna (Barbara), three granddaughters: Sarah (Jayson), Molly (Jeffrey), Erica (James). Helen is also survived by many nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 5 to 8pm and Tuesday from 11:30 until time of service at 12:30pm at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, Forked River. Interment will be at 2pm at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Lacey United Methodist Church in Helen's Memory.
