Helen Louise Ellington Rupert, age 97, born in Ashland, KY on February 17, 1927, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Villaspring of Erlanger Nursing Home. A longtime resident of Independence, KY, Helen was a cherished member of the former Sunny Acres Methodist Church.
Helen dedicated many years of her professional life as a data entry clerk for the IRS, where her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering work ethic were greatly valued. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star and the local PTA, where she made lasting contributions to her community. She also was a longtime member of the Sunny Acres Methodist Women's Club.
In her free time, Helen found joy in reading, with a particular fondness for mystery novels. Her love of books was a reflection of her curious and sharp mind.
Preceding Helen in death was her devoted husband, Fred C. Rupert; her daughter, Kathy Short and her grandson, Matthew Martin.
Those left surviving to carry on Helen’s memory include her loving son, Christopher “Chris” (Gayle) Rupert; grandchildren, Aaron (Tiffany) Rupert and Samantha (Mike) Oldiges; great-grandchildren, Noah Rupert, Caleb Rupert, Tony Oldiges, Luke Oldiges, Bryce Martin, Jackson Martin and Olivia Martin; as well as other relatives and friends who are now emptier upon her passing.
She will be reunited and laid to rest peacefully next her husband following a graveside service that will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015.
Helen will be deeply missed by many. Her life will be celebrated at a graveside service, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the rich, full life she led.
Rest in peace, Helen. Your kindness, dedication, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew you.
