Helen Louise Stenborg

(née Sanregret) died November 6, 2025 in Hartland, WI.
She was born September 23, 1926 to Emile and Gladys Sanregret in Houghton, MI. She graduated from Houghton High School and later Loyola Nursing School. Helen was a member of the United States Army Cadet Nursing Corp during and following World War II. She married Dr. Walter P. Stenborg on January 25, 1948. Helen worked in nursing before and periodically while raising 6 children.
She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She loved hosting and attending parties. Helen had many interests including attending concerts, shows and parties with family. She and Wally traveled often before buying a lake house on Pewaukee Lake. Helen did charity work with women and service clubs, including Pewaukee Women's Club and Pewaukee Yacht Club Mainstays. Helen was a lifelong knitter including writing and publishing her own patterns.She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents Emile and Gladys Sanregret, in-laws Walter and Rose Stenborg, twin infant brothers Charles and William Sanregret, Brother George (Maryann) Sanregret, brother-in-law Timothy Healy and many Bernard, Sanregret and Pellisier ancestors. Helen is survived by her sister Mary Healy and John (Janice) Sanregret. She is also survived by her children Susan (Donald) Placzkowski, Thomas (Margaret) Stenborg, James (Pamela) Stenborg, Frederic (Beatrice) Stenborg, Peter (Jean) Stenborg, and Charles(Kristin) Stenborg.
Her grandchildren include Patrick (Alana) Paczkowski, Michael Placzkowski, Kimberly (Jeffrey) LaMack, Erick (Aimee) Stenborg, Karl (Gina) Stenborg, Marie (Kevin) Pauls, Rebecca ( Evan) Riley, Rose (Beau) Malnack, Krista Stenborg and Abby Stenborg. Helen Has 14 great-grandchildren; Allyson Hoffman, Keira Riley, Zoey Riley, Samuel Stenborg, Olivier Stenborg, Margaret Stenborg, Juliette Stenborg, Declan Placzkowski, Lucy LaMack, Benjamin LaMack, Hunter Malnack, Gunner Malnack, Natalie Pauls and Ian Pauls. Helen is greatly missed by her family and friends.
Helen's Mass of Christian will be celebrated at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation at St. Char from 10:00 until time of Memorial Mass.
