A Louisville resident, formerly of Spencer County, Mrs. Helen Frances Yates Lewis, age 96, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Sanders Ridge Health Campus in Mt. Washington. She was born December 18, 1928 in Taylorsville to the late Walter and Lizzie Reinle Yates. Mrs. Lewis was a long-time member of Summit Heights United Methodist Church where she also worked in the Summit Heights Parents Out Program. She enjoyed gardening, was an excellent seamstress, and was the ultimate servant to the Lord and everyone in her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas Lewis and 3 brothers, Paul, JB, and Wilbur Yates. She is survived by her son, Mike (Patricia "Sam") Lewis of Mt. Washington, 2 grandchildren, James Thomas Lewis of Louisville, Kristen Michelle Lewis of Erlanger, 3 nephews and 2 nieces. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Frances Yates Lewis will be 10:00 am Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00-4:00 pm and Monday after 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
