Helene Michele Pileggi, age 46, of Collegeville, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by family after a battle with breast cancer for 13 years. She was the loving wife of Daniel Pileggi, her high school sweetheart. She was born in Holy Redeemer Hospital in Huntingdon Valley, PA on July 26, 1978, and was the beloved youngest daughter of John D. and Helene M. (Forchetti) Casinelli.
Helene was a graduate of Kennedy-Kenrick High School class of 1996. She went on to Cabrini University, graduating in 2000 with a BA in Elementary Education and continued her studies at Capella University graduating with her MA in Elementary Education.
Helene began her teaching career at St. Titus Elementary School, went on to Cole Manor Elementary School, and currently taught at Plymouth Elementary School for the past 7 years until her illness. Her friendly, warm, and outgoing personality, along with her passion for helping others, were the perfect recipe for an elementary school teacher who was well respected and admired.
In her younger years, Helene was an avid swimmer, golfer, and tennis player. She was a member of the swim team for Plymouth Country Club and swam competitively. She loved family vacation time at the beach at Brigantine and LBI. Ever the gracious host, Helene loved bringing family and friends together. She was blessed to have a wonderful circle of friends to make memories with. She loved dancing and watching good movies. Helene's optimistic and strong-willed attitude kept her strong on her convictions and gave her the will to keep fighting this dreaded illness. She gave back by doing volunteer work for Breastcancer.org and the Unite 4 Her organizations. Helene's enthusiastic sense of humor, her way of making people feel special, and the many wonderful qualities she held will be missed by many.
In addition to her husband Dan, and her parents John and Helene Casinelli, she is survived by her daughter Gabriella Helene Pileggi, her son Daniel Alessandro Pileggi, her sisters Michele Santangelo (CJ), Stephanie McCollum (Jamie), her parents-in-law Paolo and Donatella (Subranni) Pileggi, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA. On Wednesday, Nov. 27 the Viewing will be from 9:00-10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
