Henriqueta Cipriano (Queta) was born on January 5th, 1944 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Granddaughter of Italian immigrants, daughter of Henrique and Italia Maffei. Henriqueta is the third of four siblings: Nice, Ignez, herself and Aurelio. As a free-spirited child, she loved to dance ballet and dreamed about becoming a flight attendant, so she could fly around the world. Henriqueta was very intelligent and always eager to study. She earned undergraduate degrees in education/languages, but her true passion was law. She then earned a law doctoral degree in Sao Paulo. Once in the US, she earned a Juris Doctor Degree in Law from Yeshiva university in New York. Henriqueta immigrated from Sao Paulo to Mount Vernon, New York in 1988 with two of her three children, Paula and Julio. Nearly 20 years later her son Fernando joined them in the States. Henriqueta enjoyed helping people in her community, holding positions at Mercy College and local businesses, offering legal services for assistance of other immigrants. She moved to Florida in 2014 to live closer to her daughter.
Henriqueta loved to cook and made the best bread, eggplant and gnocchi! She enjoyed playing her accordion and piano while her pet parrot, Loro (Loreto) danced to her tunes. She also loved to sew fashionable clothes.
Despite all her obstacles, Henriqueta always found humor in things. She was a great company for all occasions, having the ability to laugh at herself (and at others) as she most certainly did things her way. With a stubborn and very crazy personality, she was a tireless warrior who managed to endure and conquer obstacles that others deemed as impossible.
Henriqueta joined the spiritual realm on November 22, 2021. We pray to God that our dear ancestors, who are now with her, receive her with open arms and guide her on her new journey.
Queta is survived by her loving Children: Fernando (Jessica) Faria, Paula (Ben) Waziry, and Julio (Marilena) Sophia and nearly adopted Frank Zimmermann. Grandchildren: Yanka, Adam, Alex and Bruno.
She will be missed by many.
Visitation for Queta will be at Barbara Falowski Funeral Home on Saturday November 27, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a one-time donation in her name to Seara De Caridade/Self-Enlightenment Foundation at https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=KV5SQYDR59UME.
