Henry Lawrence Alexander, a cherished husband, father, brother, and veteran, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in his hometown of Marshall, Texas, at the age of 87. Born to Gordon Lee Alexander and Cecyl Bernice McDonald Alexander on January 9, 1938, Henry's life was defined by his generosity, friendliness, and loving nature.
Henry, affectionately known as Hank to his friends and family, was a proud American who served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1963. His love for his country and its flag was a testament to his deep sense of patriotism. After his distinguished military service, Henry returned to Marshall. He was a hard worker, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic in every endeavor he undertook.
Henry was an avid collector of coins and had an enduring love for muscle cars. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and took great joy in the company of animals. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always ready with a friendly smile and a helping hand for anyone in need.
Henry leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Ford Alexander, and children: Lynnette Martinez and her husband Izzy, Darlene Grooms and her husband David, Cheryl Thomas and her husband Martin, Kim Thomas, Nawal Hampton and her husband Robert, Kirk Jones, Kip Jones and his wife Lisa, and Greg Jones and his wife Deborah. His life was further blessed with the joy brought by his multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Sister, Jacque Kirkland and Brother, Danny Alexander and his wife Patsy. Sister-in-Laws, Frances Cooper, Charlene Sawyer and husband Robert. Brother-in-law Adrian Ford and wife Anne and Joel Ford and wife Norma.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son, Larry Edward Alexander, Brothers, J.B., Billy Carl, Cecil Lee, and Donald Keith, and Sisters, Norma Moody, Carolyn Jones, Syble Richardson, and Martha Coulter. They welcomed Henry into eternal rest with love and open arms.
Henry's life was indeed made rich by the love, laughter, and generosity he shared with all who knew him. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his loved ones.
Henry's life was a journey of dedication, joy, and boundless love. As we say farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived, a family well-loved, and a man who will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace, having left the world a better place through his presence.
