Gary Glen Muller, famously known as "Booger", passed away peacefully at his home in Longview, Texas, in the presence of loved family on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 76.
Booger was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Carl and Mavis Muller, the second of four children. He attended Judson Middle School and Longview High School before joining his father as a mason. Booger spent a lifetime working with brick and stone building some of the beautiful structures you can still see in Texas including the infamous round dorms, Steen Hall, at Stephen F. Austin State University. He was always willing to help out friends and family with their brick and rock work for their homes.
Boog, as he was often called by his beloved wife, met Colleen Deshler, first in school. Although they were fast friends, each went their own way in life. They were lucky enough to reconnect and come back together years later marrying on September 22, 1991. They were able to share 34 wonderful years of marriage enjoying their time together.
Booger and Colleen shared four children, Tracy Ann Muller Simpson, James Brandon Muller, Tracy Reese Carver and Angela Reese. His children meant the world to him and he often spoke of how proud he was of them.
Although he loved his children and wife, and loved his role as a bricklayer, his favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Big Daddy, never failing to share his wisdom with them.
Loved by family and friends, so many enjoyed visiting and working alongside Booger. He taught many life lessons to anyone and if you were smart you'd definitely listen!
And although he had a love of all people, Booger truly loved all their pets. Their current cat, Piper, will miss him as he was just about the only one that Piper liked.
Other than family, Booger loved hunting and baseball. A love he shared with his children and grandchildren. He went on many hunting trips in Colorado, throughout Texas, and specifically Sonora where much of the family gathered over Thanksgiving making memories of a lifetime.
As most can tell you, Booger absolutely loved baseball. He enjoyed watching, and complaining, about the Texas Rangers, but loved every second. He especially loved coaching and later watching his son as he played into college, then transferred that love to his grandchildren. Big Daddy loved to watch his kids and grandkids play baseball and softball and often relayed words of encouragement to them. One of his most proud moments was watching his granddaughter as she played at the high school state tournament.
Booger Muller was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mavis Muller, sister Karla Muller Taylor, nephew Chris Lindsay, sister-in-law Diane Muller, and brother Ronnie Muller.
He is survived by wife Colleen Muller, sister Judy Williams and husband Ronnie, children Tracy Muller Simpson, Brandon Muller and wife Tammy Houck Muller, Tracy Reese Carver and husband Josh Carver, and Angela Reece, and grandchildren Bailey Pairgin, Sam and Kaleen Simpson; Mason, Charlie, Channing and Maddux Muller; Hailey Carver; Kelsey Ingram; and great grandson Lincoln Carver; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025, 2:00-4:00 pm, at Judson Community Center, 1129 FM-1844, Longview, TX 75605. All family and friends are invited to attend.
