Henry Eldon Bows, 76, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at his home at Greenway Senior Housing.
He was born August 10, 1947 in Cleveland, the son of James and Velma (Whitlow) Bows and graduated from John Adams High School. He had lived in Cleveland most of life and moved Ashtabula five years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a maintenance mechanic for RTA in Cleveland and previously worked as a bailiff for the Clerk of Courts under Judge Lambros court in Cleveland.
A member of the Army Navy Union, he was a proud veteran and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged.
He enjoyed puzzles (especially crosswords and Mahjong), old school R&B like the O'Jays, Big Band, and jazz music, watching MASH and old westerns, and reading. A huge Cleveland Browns fan, he especially loved his grandchildren and having a good time with his family and friends.
His survivors include his children, Tiffani (Michael Ward) Bows of Cleveland, Brittany Paul of Denver, CO, Milan (Brandon Head) Bows of Fort Lauderdale, FL, LaCebian "Lucky" (Chyvon) Crockett of Ashtabula, and Kimberly (Robert) Rivera of Cleveland; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, his brother, Craig (Deborah) Bows of MD; two nieces, ; a nephew; numerous cousins; his only surviving aunt, Johngelena Whitlow (Leroy) Little; his special friend, Faye McQueen; his best friends, Harold Chapman and Robert "Smitty" Smith; and a host of other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Pastor Tony Boyd of The City Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
