Henry Edsel Cravey
Friday, March 12, 1943 – Wednesday, October 15, 2025
Henry Edsel Cravey, age 82, of Milan, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 15, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1943, to the late Luther and Minnie Lou Cravey.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Alvin Lewis will officiate, assisted by Earl Merritt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
He was a devoted husband to his late wife, JoAnn Lewis Cravey, who preceded him in death. He was a loving father to his children, Michelle Dorris (Freddie) of Milan and Brian Cravey of Edgewater, Florida. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, sharing his wisdom and laughter with his grandchildren, Zach Christian (Raegin), Erica Scott (Heath), Justin Cravey, Taylor Child (Nick), Tyler Dorris, and Alex Dorris. Edsel's joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Graham Christian, Jackson Scott, Kaleigh Scott, Isla Child, Josie Dorris, and Grayson Dorris. He also leaves behind his grand dog, Bella.
He was a man of the soil, a farmer who knew the value of hard work and perseverance. Edsel also spent many years at Amoco then later became the familiar face behind the counter at Cravey Country Store, making the store more than just a place to shop, but a hub of community life. He was a member of Rebecca Baptist Church.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by the stories told, the lessons learned, and the love he shared with so many. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
