I have know Chick since the early 1950's. He was always polite, kind & a gentleman. They started out in a small apartment in West Philadelphia and then they bought a home on Holme Avenue. Mary worked at Holme School Part Time and Chick worked every day. They raised 3 children there and they saved to buy their last home in Cooperstown Pa. Our Father William J Barrett Sr would visit her & Chick. They raised their own vegetables in their back yard and Mary made jam and canned their vegetables for winter. Mary also made delicious pickles She told me about our Grandfather Thomas J Barrett who died in 1939 Philadelphia Pa. You both are together now forever.
