GREENFIELD - Henry Frank Miller, Jr., age 49, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 16, 1975, and raised in Zionsville, Indiana. He married his soulmate, Stacy Jo Payne Miller, on August 18, 2007, in Zionsville.
Henry attended Culver Military Academy over two summers and later graduated from Zionsville High School where he played football. During his younger years, he enjoyed riding horses, big trucks, barn parties, and fishing trips with his dad and brother. He enjoyed his family time with fun vacations and lake time at Dale Hollow. He developed a strong work ethic at a young age by working in a family landscaping business with his dad and brother, Ramey.
Henry's passion for construction began early from playing with tonka toys in the sandbox, and when he was 12, he was operating his neighbor's backhoe. He became captivated by the power of heavy equipment and found joy in "playing in the dirt." This passion led him to study construction management at Vincennes University and Purdue University graduating with a B.S. from the School of Technology. His love for excavating and demolition was more than a career.
Those who knew Henry often described him as one of the most fun-loving people they had ever met. He greeted each day with a smile, a joke, and unwavering optimism. Whether with family, friends, or strangers, he was known for his big heart and jovial personality.
Henry's adventurous spirit extended beyond his career. Fun fact, he was Trailblazer Willie the mascot for Vincennes University- and he did flips! He was also on the rodeo team at Purdue University.
He enjoyed cheering on the Boilermakers with Stacy as John Purdue Club and President's Club members, along with Colts games as season ticket holders. He also treasured days shared with his beloved German Shepherd, Gunther.
Henry lived life to the fullest and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, ambition, leadership and an unwavering work ethic. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, employees, and everyone whose life he touched.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Stacy; his parents, Henry Sr. and Karen Miller, of Osprey, FL, his brother, Ramey (Jennifer) Miller and his nephew, Remington of Gainesville, GA. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Karen Payne (KP) of Huntington, Indiana, and lifelong friends Ray Lathrop, Jason Stanley and Geoff Kapke.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Reverend George D. Billeisen will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Humane Society for Boone County at P.O. Box 708, Lebanon, IN 46052 by website at: Donate - Humane Society for Boone County
