Henry Elliott Moudy, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully in his Cato, Mississippi home under the loving care of his family on September 24, 2025, due to complications of ureter cancer.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of devotion to God and his family. Father of two children and grandfather of four, he embodied a strong, humble, and ever-present love. With encouragement and pride, he attended his children’s and grandchildren’s ball games, award days, dance recitals, plays, honors, and graduations. Even when they were states apart, he supported his grandchildren with a presence and love that spanned the miles. Henry was an avid motorcyclist who would repair things for his family, from broken lawnmowers to broken hearts. He was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders as well as the Faith Riders, who witness to the public about God’s love at events and festivals around the state. In good times and challenging times, he led with unwavering faith and a quiet strength that will be missed by all who knew him.

Henry was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on October 1, 1946, to Henry Moudy, Sr., and Nan Moudy. He was a student at Brandon High School, where he met his would-be wife, Minnie Moudy (née Brown), on a blind date before graduating in 1964. Henry then attended Hinds Community College before moving on to Mississippi State University, where he and Minnie married on January 27, 1967. After graduating, Henry joined the United States Air Force, serving his country from July 1969 through July 1973 before beginning work for KLLM Transport Services, where he worked for thirty-five years before retiring.

Henry and Minnie moved to Cato, Mississippi, in 1976, where they would raise their children, Tate and Tangie, and become members of Cato Baptist Church. There, Henry was a Sunday school teacher for children and adults. He also served the church and his community as a deacon for many years. His steadfast faith and servant's heart shone as an example for those who would follow Christ. Even as his illness progressed, he continued to be a steward of his church and a beacon of faithfulness.

Henry is survived by his wife Minnie; his children Tate Moudy with his wife Michelle and Tangie Celoria with her husband Mark; his grandchildren, Brooklyn Hughes with her husband Layton, Cole Moudy, and Abigail and Isabelle Celoria; his sister Hendra Harrist; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry, Sr., and Nan Moudy, his brother Wesley Moudy, Sr., and his nephew Wesley Moudy, Jr.

Visitation will be at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5pm-7pm. Services will be 11am Saturday, at Cato Baptist Church with a visitation starting at 10am at the church.
