TOWN OF FAIRFIELD – Henry G. "Hank" Robbins, 86, of Hardscrabble Road, passed away on January 27, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Robbins was born on April 22, 1937 in Ludlow, MA, a son of the late George and Helen (Perrin) Robbins. He received his education in Springfield schools. On October 21, 1997, Henry was united in marriage with the former Linda K. Crossett. Hank was a life-long truck driver, he was last employed for the United States Postal Service delivering bulk mail. Mr. Robbins was a gentleman farmer, he enjoyed raising chickens and was known as the "egg man". Hank collected Hess trucks and was a fond of John Deere tractors.
Survivors besides his wife of 26 years, Linda, include six daughters, Karen (Paul Panik) Kravec and Brenda Kravec all of Herkimer, Cheryl Robbins of FL, Cindy Wells of MA, Leeann Wilson of NC, and Dee Dee Dahlstrom of MA; three sons, Nick (Lyn) Kravec of Herkimer, Greg Robbins of SC, and Rick (Temra) Turenne of MA; three brothers, Peter (Gloria) Robbins, and James and Robert Vallandingham, all of MA; three sisters, Bonnie (Scott) Kenyon of FL, Cathy (Gary) Little of MA, and Darlene Beany of MA; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by three sisters, Hazel Gauthier, Joyce Arsenault and Jean Witkop; and two brothers, Gifford and William Robbins.
Calling hours at the Autenrith Funeral Home, 7479 Main Street, Newport, are Thursday, February 1, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Scott Coffin officiating. Spring interment will take place in Middleville Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfield Restoration Association, P.O. Box 44, Middleville, NY 13406. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
