Henry Torres sadly passed at the young age of 66 surrounded by his loved ones. He had been battling cancer for just shy of 2 years.
Henry was born in San Juan Puerto Rico to Gladys Maldonado Ortiz and Angel Roberto Torres Matos.
Henry was a dedicated husband, son, father and grandfather who is survived by his daughter, Chanda Torres, son in law Ricky Castillo, his only grandchild Carlos Castillo and his step daughter Tasha Cox.
Henry came to New York from Puerto Rico at the young age of 17.
With the support of his Uncle Tali and Aunt Hilda along with the rest of the family he was able to quickly establish himself and flourish.
He dedicated himself to his work as a Landscaper for over 40 years, taking much pride in what he did. He had quite the eye for his creations: Waterfalls, walkways and bridges. His creativity was endless.
Henry was always the type of person to talk to everyone he came across. He would tell you, "I love to talk", and you could be there for hours. He loved to joke around with those around him, always looking to make you smile and laugh. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He would give you the shirt off of his back. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, absolutely adored him.
A viewing will be held at George Holt Funeral home in Haverstraw NY on Saturday April 13th 2024 from 2pm to 6pm.
No burial, Henry wished to be cremated.
