Herbert A. Kroner

Herbert A. Kroner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born on June 20, 1932 to Robert and Naomi Kroner. He was raised in the Bronx and spent his summers in Far Rockaway, where fate brought him to meet the love of his life, Letty Lynn Israel, on their 15th birthday when he crashed her party.
A proud graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and New York University, Herb always called New York home. He and Letty married in 1952 and built a life together filled with love, laughter, and family. They had three children: Gregg (JoAnn) Kroner, Ilene (Mitchell) Sadowsky, and Evan (Wendy) Kroner. His grandchildren, Rachel Kroner, Sandra (Michael) Colesanti, Robert (Mina) Singer, Julie (Andrew Keeler) Singer, and Jessica (Joe Piccini) Kroner, as well as his great-grandchildren Dylan and Aubrey Colesanti filled his days with joy throughout his 93 years.
His professional life was spent in the securities industry, beginning at Ira Haupt & Co., where he worked alongside his father, Robert, and brother, Donald. Herb continued through many mergers and firm acquisitions, ultimately retiring in 2007 from Wachovia Securities after more than three decades of working with his son, Gregg. Outside of work, Herb and Letty traveled the world, cherished time with family, and supported numerous important causes within their community. A lifelong Rotarian, Herb embodied the motto "Service Above Self", and that ethos will be sorely missed.
A funeral service will be held at Beth Am Temple (60 East Madison Ave., Pearl River, NY 10965), a Reform congregation where Herb and Letty were founding members, on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Shiva will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening at the Colesanti residence.
