Herman "Gerald" Hosman

Herman "Gerald" Hosman, 83, of the "Y" Community, Sturgis, KY passed away on November 17, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald was born in Union County, KY to Herman William Hosman and Mary Thelma Hosman (Alvey) on January 30, 1942. Gerald worked for over 30 successive years for Bill Morgan Gas Company, Bickett Equipment Company, and Island Creek Hamilton Two Coal Company before becoming the owner and operator, with his wife Anna, of Hosman's Grocery Store, located at the "Y" Community, until his retirement in 2001. Gerald enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife Anna and their extended family, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Ruth Hosman (Winders), a daughter, Tracey Ann Hosman (Joe Cruse) of Paducah, KY, a son, William Gerald "Jerry" Hosman of Corydon, KY, a much beloved granddaughter, Victoria Ann Hosman "Tori" of Grand Rivers, KY, a brother, Jim Hosman (Carol) of Morganfield, KY, as well as cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Visitation will be Friday, 11/21/2025 4PM-8PM, and Saturday 11/22/2025 10AM-11AM, with services to follow at 11AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Anthony's Hospice of Henderson: 2410 S Green St, Henderson, KY 42420, as well as The Alzheimer's Association.
The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the caregivers who worked with the Hosman family and gave amazing care to Gerald and outstanding support to his family, through Gerald's last days, Shelly Wyatt, Patty Alvis, Jennifer Tamayo, Shannon Campbell, and the staff of Saint Anthony's Hospice of Henderson, KY.
