Hershel Miller age 94 passed away July 24, 2025, at his home due to a short-term illness. He was born September 27, 1930, to his parents the late Attison and Gypsy Estep Miller in Louisa, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Betty Lou Miller, daughter and son in law Linda and Chuck McDowell, daughter in law Kathleen Miller. Siblings Kermit Miller, Bessie Thompson, Martha Moore and Marie Oliver. Hershel is survived by his son Bobby Miller of Circleville. Sister Francis Castle of Louisa, Ky. and a special friend and caretaker Mary Tacket, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren and many dear brothers and sisters in Christ. He was a member of various Baptist churches in Central Ohio most recently South Columbus Freewill Baptist. Hershel was employed by Federal Glass and retired from Ohio Packing. Hershel joined the Chandlersville Masonic Lodge in 1968. He started the family farm focusing on pigs then transitioned to Herford Beef Cattle before turning the full responsibility over to Bobby. He had quite a green thumb raising one of the largest gardens in his neighborhood. They would can food and enjoy the fruits of their labors all year long. Beekeeping was a hobby he thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, the bees didn't care for other family being near their hives. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and utmost gratitude to Mount Carmel Hospice which allowed him to be in his home as he wished. The family requests that anyone desiring to donate do so to Mount Carmel Hospice in Hershel's memory. Also, a special thanks to Kim Jones for providing care in his final days, it truly takes a village, and this family is Blessed with the Best! Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Ohio July 29, 2025, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The Grand Masonic Lodge will hold their service at 7:30 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery
