Hilda Simmons Harbour, 89, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by her loving family. Born November 21, 1935, in Surry County to the late James Dewey and Huldah Nichols Simmons. Hilda was a member of Level Cross UMC and faithful Christian. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Harbour Whitaker and Kent, and Lisa Harbour Caudle and Tim; son and daughter-in-law, Wade Lee Harbour Jr. and Teresa; grandchildren, Brandon and Holly Whitaker, Brian and Amy Whitaker, Sabrina and Sean Courter, Benjamin and Laura Whitaker, Zachary and Carrie Caudle, Beth and Caleb Cosby, Wade Lee Harbour III “Trey” and Abby Harbour, and Tess Harbour Bryant and Ethan Bryant; great grandchildren, Anna, Kate, Jaxson, Reese, Raegan, Piper, Cameron, Brynlee, Jetta, Corbin, Callen, Mary Addison, Conley, and E Rose; sister, Frances Peacock; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Betty Simmons, and Dean and Carole Simmons; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Lee Harbour; an infant daughter, Pamela Harbour; sisters, Barbara Cruise, Madge York, Mary Sue Jarvis, and Imogene Radford; and brother, Wayne Simmons. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Level Cross UMC. A funeral will be held following the visitation on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Level Cross UMC with speakers, Rev. Heetae Kim, Tim Caudle, Kent Whitaker, and Brandon Whitaker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideon International at P.O. Box 481, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care at P.O. 325 Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the Harbour family.
