Hilda Caroline Opdahl, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab Center, Bagley, MN.
Memorial service will be at 3pm Friday, July 26, 2024, at Vernes Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh, MN.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
The interment will be at Vernes Lutheran Cemetery, rural McIntosh, MN.
On August 19, 1937, Hilda was born to Knute and Ella (Olson) Torkelson in Oklee, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Clearwater Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN. Hilda attended school in Oklee. On June 12, 1955, Hilda was united in marriage to Wendell Opdahl at the Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN. She worked as a potato picker and later Percy Johnson's mink farm. She also worked as a manager for craft shops with Intercounty Community Council in Oklee.
Hilda in her younger years loved talking on the telephone and visiting with friends, family, and relatives. She enjoyed working on her flower beds, baking, and going to the cabin at Roy Lake, MN.
Hilda is survived by her children: Carol (David) Dahlen and Roger (Debbie) Opdahl; grandchildren: Rachel (fiancé Matt Ruvelson) Dahlen, Travis (Bridget) Dahlen, Ashley (Brandon) Nelson, and Kelly (Sameer) Pai, great-grandchildren: Brayden, Olivia, Briggs, Parker, Alena, Braxton, Senna; Sisters: Mable McKinney and Jean Quam, sister-in-law, Betty Opdahl; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Opdahl, parents, brother, Kenny Torkelson, and sister, Elaine McDonald.
Memorials can be sent to Vernes Lutheran Church, McIntosh, MN.
