Mr. Twedt was my chemistry teacher junior year. I was really interested in chemistry (thought I would major in chemistry in college, but didn't) and I found his class fascinating. One thing I remember was his coming to class in the fall with dark stains on his hands from harvesting walnuts.

I was very sorry to learn about the loss of Mr. Twedt. I was born in 1963 in Corvallis and one of my fondest memories is the stops we would make on the way home from summer vacations at Twedt's where we would buy fixings for supper. My father, Craig B. Leman, loved fresh corn and we would always buy some at the shop. I remember that my parents would leave the money in a coffee can at the stand and when we got home, my father would shuck the corn and my mom, Nancy F. Leman, would cook it. It was always delicious. All the produce was the finest quality and sometimes we would get to meet Mr. Twedt himself. He was a one of the finest citizens of Corvallis and we who ate his produce are healthier and have good constitutions thanks to his contributions towards solid nutrition in our community. He will be much missed and remembered with respect and gratitude for the fun and tastiness he provided.
