Hope Hallazgo Jussaume
February 8th, 1987 - August 6th, 2024
Hope Jussaume, 37, passed away suddenly the morning of August 6th, 2024. She is survived by her loving husband of 5 years, Daniel Jussaume. They were together and inseparable the entire time they shared together, from when they met in law school until the morning she passed.
Hope was predeceased by her father Spero Hallazgo who passed in 1986. She is survived by her mother Milagros Gavin, her father in this life, Elmer Noblesala, and her brother Ethan. Additionally she is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, godchildren, and friends stretching across the globe.
Hope was born in the city of Cagayan de Oro, in the Philippines and then immigrated to New York City when she was seven, joining her mother, Elmer and Ethan. She lived in Queens, New York until she graduated from St. John's University in 2009. During her time in New York, Hope gained more family and is survived by her brother Nate and sister Melissa with their Father Chris. After earning her bachelors in English, she moved to Andover, Massachusetts to begin law school. The first day of orientation when she walked in the room and Daniel saw her smile and heard her laugh, he fell in love at first sight. Hope took a little convincing but after a week she agreed to a lunch and that was that. As it turns out, food is a significant part of her Filipino culture and he found the key to unlocking what would turn into a wonderful time together.
As a result of Daniel's persistence, Hope was immediately thrust into another very large family including Daniel's mother Colette and her husband Marcel Courtemanche, and Daniel"s Father Marcel Jussaume added even more parents to the mix. Daniel's brothers Nicholas, Tyler, Joshua, and another large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins welcomed Hope with open arms and she found her place in her family here too. Hope and Daniel dated for 10 years exactly, and they somewhat spontaneously decided to get married on Friday the 13th, 2019. It was a beautiful warm September evening with a glorious sunset and ended with dancing under a full moon. This fall would have marked 15 years together. Their relationship and marriage was filled with love, adventure, laughter, food and life. They had no children together but gave their love to several nieces and nephews and godchildren.
They honeymooned in the Philippines in 2020, and she was able to see her father's grave site and visit with the family, walk on her home islands and swim in the beautiful waters and selflessly shared her proud Filipino heritage and family with Daniel.
She made a career in customer service and banking where even then, she made an impact on so many members of the community. She loved volunteering for the local animal human society tag days, and making her Filipino food and homemade cookies to bring into work to share. Hope's legacy is one of love, laughter, smiles, songs, sharing meals and enjoyment of life. She brought so much love and joy to each and every person she met. Her passing is a loss that will be felt by too many people to include here. Some of her favorite things were the color purple, Sampaguita flowers (Filipino Jasmine), any and all animals, "Hello-Kitty" and especially food. Hopes smile, laughter, beauty inside and out will be deeply missed by all her family, her friends, and her especially her loving husband and soulmate.
May Hope find her peace in her passing.
