Howard Marion Altizer, 83, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1941 to Mae Arnold and Howard Marion Altizer Sr., he attended Roanoke schools and ultimately graduated with a bachelor's degree from Campbell University, after transferring there from Wake Forest. Howard launched his career with Bassett Furniture in 1965.

In 1979, Howard married Sally Rybovich of Palm Beach, Florida. The pair relocated to Martinsville, Virginia, where they lived for seven years before moving to High Point, North Carolina, in 1982. High Point is where Howard established his own decorative fabric sales company. Over the decades, Howard and Sally became cherished members of the High Point community, known for their warmth, hospitality, and lively involvement in local life.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife, Sally and his son, Drew Altizer and daughter-in-law Camille Hayes, of San Francisco. He will be deeply missed by friends and extended family who will always remember his generosity, humor, and contagious sense of fun.

A celebration of Howard's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to your preferred charity.
