Howard H. Erichsen

Howard H. Erichsen, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17th with family by his side. Howard was born on March 19, 1932, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was the son of the late Christian and Anna Zeller Erichsen.
Howard attended and graduated from Highland Schools. He was enlisted in the United States Airforce and served from 1949-1952 and then continued in the reserves until 1958. He took great pride in his military service and often would display the Airforce emblems on hats and clothing commemorating that branch of the service. He also was a Life Member of the American Legion. Howard earned a degree with honors from Dutchess Community College.
Howard married the former Mary Lester in Poughkeepsie on August 15, 1963. They were married for 45 years until his wife passed away on January 25, 2009. They made their home in Hyde Park, N.Y.
Howard's professional career started with developing a small electronics / technology firm prior to joining the US Cablevision company as a regional manager. He was associated with this company for over 20 years, and he retired in 1994.
Howard is survived by his beloved daughter, Wanda Erichsen, with whom he made his home in Hyde Park, N.Y. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Howard was predeceased two brothers, Kenneth A. Erichsen and Christian Erichsen, both of Highland, N.Y.
Funeral services for Howard will begin at 11 AM on Monday, October 27 at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, N.Y., with the Rev. Arleen Dawber, officiating. Following the services, Howard will be interred in the family plot at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, where military honors will be conducted.
