Howard D. 'Howie' Galusha, age 78 of Addison, NY passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at his home. Born on November 9, 1945 in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Howard C. and Hazel (Hampton) Galusha.
Howie was a graduate of Corning Free Academy, class of 1963. After high school, Howie joined the United States Navy, serving from 1966 to 1970. He married Wanda Decker on July 24, 1987. Howie worked on the Rod Line for Dresser-Rand in Painted Post, retiring in 2006 after 44 years of service. Howie had a love for classic cars, specifically his beloved Chevelle. He was an avid fisherman, taking many trips throughout New York and Pennsylvania. His family will miss their many family euchre games, which had become a tradition over the years.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Wanda Galusha of Addison; children: Hollie Galusha of Clay, NY, Aubrey Galusha and her husband, Michael Taylor, Sr. of Westerlo, NY; grandchild, Aaron Peters; sister, Eileen (Dan) Riley of PA; many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law; and feline companion, Patch. Howie's family would like to express their deep thanks to Jim Okonsky, Butch Williams and his CareFirst care team.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St. Addison, NY. A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family in the family plot in Addison Rural Cemetery, Addison, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Howards name may be sent to: CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.
