Howard Vander Jagt, aged 88, went to be with this Lord on March 6, 2025. He was born May 26, 1936 in Coopersville, Michigan to the late Leonard and Nellie (Eversdyke) Vander Jagt.

Howard grew up in Coopersville and served in the National Guards for 8 years. In the summer of 1957 he married his beloved wife Karen White.

He and his brother Leonard owned and operated Vander Jagt Bros. Construction for many years.

Howard was a long-time member of Coopersville Reformed Church. He served as an Elder and Deacon many times and volunteered for many projects for the church.

He dearly loved hunting with his son and granddaughters. He also loved riding his 4-wheeler in the woods, but more importantly spending time with his family.

Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years Karen; daughter, Barbara Vander Jagt; son, William “Bill” (Anne) Vander Jagt; granddaughters, Linda (Henry) Beaune of Coopersville, Julie (Brandon) Peters of Chicago and Marie (Doug) Johnson of Zeeland, Hunter Beaune, Colton Beaune and Hope Beaune; great-grandchildren, Tobias and Brodric Beaune, and Haylee and Emmalyn Johnson with a new granddaughter to arrive in June; brothers, Leonard (Velma) Vander Jagt of Marne, Donald (Lorraine) Vander Jagt of Grand Rapids, Kenneth (Grace) Vander Jagt of Conklin and Rodger (Cheryl) Vander Jagt of Coopersville; sisters, Ellen Rozema of Coopersville, Marion Alderink and Nancy Torgerson of Redlands Calif.; sister-in-law Marilyn (Warren) Lessien; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Floyd (Phyliss) Vander Jagt and sisters, Florence (Bert) Camfferman, Cora (Ron) Scherencel, Lorraine (Ray) Bulthuis and Betty (Jim) Baker.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Coopersville, Reformed Church, 429 W. Randall St, Coopersville, MI with Rev. John Hines and Rev. Arnold VanBeek officiating. Following the service your invited to visit with the family and have refreshments in the Activity Center at Church. Private Burial will take place in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Monday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at the Coopersville Reformed Church.
