Howard C. Wine, 85, Marion, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on September 4, 1939, to Russell and Sylvia (Baker) Wine. On October 1, 1961, he married Lou Ann Strickland.
Howard graduated from Van Buren High School and furthered his education at Indiana Business College for two years. He worked at General Plastics for 32 years, starting in sales and then working his way up to Vice President. He was a member of Grace Community Church and Van Buren Lions Club (25+ years).
Howard did various things to keep himself busy. He enjoyed mowing the grass and collecting radios. He also loved antique cars, as well as watching Purdue basketball and, more recently, Indiana Fever and Pacers. Howard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was community-minded and enjoyed working around The Wildwood Addition helping the neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Wine; sons, Martin (Patty) Wine of North Webster, Keith Wine of Warsaw, Kevin Wine of Marion, and Chris (Megan) Wine of Marion; grandchildren, Brad Wine, April (Trey) Jones, Kyle (Kasey) Wine, Matthew (Brooke) Wine, and Isaiah Ray Wine; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Bentley, and Addison; and many special friends and valued neighbors who will miss Howard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Wine; mother, Sylvia E. Wine; brother, Verlin Wine; and grandson, Nathan Wine.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Howard's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at North Chapel, preceded by an additional hour of visitation, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Pastor Tom Mansbarger will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.

I knew Howard from his radio shopping at the flea market and antique stores that I worked at over the years. Howard was a great guy and a pleasure to know and serve. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my friend.
