Hoyt (Buddy) Eugene Lawson, Jr. (59) went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2024.  His devotion to God, his family, friends, and coworkers filled his life and everyone who knew him with love and laughter.  He was like no other! Buddy loved to make people laugh and he always had a joke to tell.

Buddy was born in Greenville, SC on November 24, 1964, to the late Hoyt Eugene, Sr. and Ellen Mae Lawson.

Buddy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth of 15 years and his children, William (Elizabeth) Lawson and Matthew Lawson; his stepchildren, Guillermo (Memo) and Luis; and his five grandchildren: Blakeley Mae, Sarah, Alley, Manny and Sandra.  Buddy will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Becky (Mark) Blume and Jeannie (Clayton) Crittendon; his stepmother, Jane Elizabeth Lawson; his six nieces and nephews:  Dottie, Mandy, Nicky, Justin, Ashley and Austin; his eight great nieces and nephews:  Brittney, Kira, Zane, Brandon, Madison, Zoe, Kylie, and Ryland; three great nieces and nephews:  Lennox, Lincoln and River Hoyt and his many friends.  Buddy was predeceased by his brother Joseph Ashley Lawson.

Buddy was employed with Pratt Industries in Simpsonville, SC for the last 35 years. You could not find a more dedicated employee, coworker, or friend.  In the words of coworkers: "You will never find a more devoted employee than Buddy.  He gave 200% each day for 35 years...he had a heart of gold."  "He was the most dedicated employee for the longest time of all of us."  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his family, friends, and coworkers.
