Hubert R. Hamus, age 93 died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at AngelsGrace Hospice. He was born in Marshfield, WI on January 22, 1932 to Joseph and Odelia Hamus.
Hubert grew up in a hardworking farming family and learned the art of auto repair from his father and grandfather. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In 1955 he moved to Waukesha and worked as an auto mechanic. He was employed at Roger’s Tire in Waukesha for 27 years, retiring in 1996. On September 1, 1956 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Hardinger at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. Hubert and Betty enjoyed 42 years together, raising four children, before she passed away in 1998.
He was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed playing cards with the St. Mary Sheepshead card club. Hubert enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Karen (Daniel) Dickenson and sons, Richard (Charlotte) Hamus and Paul Hamus. He is further survived by two grandchildren Olivia and Cody.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Hamus and son Michael Hamus, brothers, Jerome (Charlotte)Hamus, Gerald (Mildred) Hamus, Victor (Joan) Hamus, a sister, Joan (Phil) Rotar, brothers-in-law Eugene Hardinger and Gerry (Margaret) Hardinger.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home,1110 S. Grand Ave from 4:00 PM until the Rosary service at 6:30PM. Visitation continues on Saturday, January 3 at Corpus Christi Parish, St Mary, 225 S. Hartwell Ave from 9:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
