Hubert Lee Spillman Sr., age 74 of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1951, John and Dorothy Spillman in Clovis, New Mexico. He married Wanda Phillips in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hubert was a member of the Triangle Baptist Church. Hubert was also a Deacon at Triangle Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and helped to guide the youth. He also visited the elders of the church and offered comforting words.
Hubert worked for Santa BNSF Railway in the early 1970s. While working for the Railroad, he graduated with his Associate's Degree in Electrical Maintenance at Clovis Community College. Hubert moved his family to Long Beach, California, in 1989 to start his job with Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, California. Hubert was a family-oriented individual who enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, watching sports, barbecuing, and listening to James Brown and other blues artists.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Spillman. Daughter, Melita T. Spillman of Clovis, New Mexico. Son, Hubert Lee Spillman Jr. of Clovis, New Mexico. Children of Melita T. Spillman, Grandson Aaron X. Spillman of Honolulu, Hawaii. Jordan M. Spillman of Phoenix, Arizona. Jay M. Spillman of Clovis, New Mexico. Children of Hubert Lee Spillman Jr., KeA KeAndrea and KeAndre Spillman of Long Beach, California. Heaven Lei Spillman of Barstow, California. Zaley Ester Spillman of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
