Hugh B Tanner, age 80, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 21, 2024.
Hugh was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, neighbor, and friend to all who knew him. He had a very positive attitude and lived for his family and friends. He often whistled as he went about his day.
Hugh was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission in England and has had many callings in the church.
Hugh had a long and successful 34-year career with Mountain Fuel (Dominion Energy)
Survivors include his wife: Roylence Tanner, son: Hugh H Tanner, daughter: Rachelle (Jason) Chin, and his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00am at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. A gathering for family and friends will begin one hour prior, at the mortuary. Interment will follow at the Elysian Burial Gardens.
The family wishes to thank those caregivers that have assisted Hugh through the last months of his life. Included are his Doctors, Nurses, Physical and Occupational Therapists, and staff at Aspen Ridge Transitional Rehab and many others who have provided loving care and assistance.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider a donation to the LDS Church Missionary Fund or a charity of your choice in his memory.
