Hunter J. Hartman

Obituary
Hunter Hartman, a lifelong resident of Denver, Colorado passed away unexpectedly at home February 20, 2022.
Hunter was born in Denver, Colorado on November 1, 1993. He graduated from Cherry Creek HS, June 2012. After high school pursuing his passion, he played two seasons of Junior Hockey in Eugene, Oregon, for the Eugene Generals. He then attended Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire, later transferring to The University of Denver where he graduated from the Daniels College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in June 2018 and played on their club hockey team.
This Fall Hunter tried out for and was selected to the Colorado Avalanche Ice Patrol for the 2021-22 hockey season. Hunter has always wanted a career with one of Colorado's professional teams, and the Avalanche being his first choice. He felt that by trying out and making the team he had hoped to get his "skate" in the door that he hoped may lead to a full-time position where he could work his way up. Hunter also worked for Morgan's Liquors. Hunter enjoyed being part of the team of both the Avalanche Ice Patrol and Morgan's, often relaying how much he liked the people he worked for and worked with.
Hunter had a gentle soul and if he was your friend, he was a friend for life. Hunter's passion was sports from an early age playing baseball and hockey and excelling at both. He played high school baseball for Cherry Creek HS and high school hockey for Kent Denver. Hunter was always athletic. You could find him in the gym, running to clear his head or competing in half and full marathons. He most recently completed the Colfax Marathon last October. During the summer months you could find him at the top of the Manitou Incline by 6:00am.
If you wanted to start him talking just ask him about his day or how the Avalanche, Rockies or Broncos played their last time out. Hunter often sent lengthy texts to his friends with complete details of the game and some "expert" game calling. Hunter would often say just give me a few minutes with Mr. Jared Bednar and Mr. Joe Sakic. Hunter would rush to the phone to be a part of a facetime with his niece and nephew. It was common to find him, and Hank the family dog curled up on the couch watching sports together. Hunter had a grin that would light up a room and he will be deeply missed by all.
Hunter is survived by his parents Dan and Chris, sister Haley Kennett, brother-in-law Matt Kennett and niece Cooper and nephew Colt. Uncle Dave Hartman and his wife Aunt Liz Hartman, Aunt Gilly Hartman her husband Kevin Widlic, Aunt Cathy Hartman. Cousins Katie, Tessa, Megan, Carly, Brian and Ellie. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Carolyn May Hartman and his grandfather Henry Arden Hartman and his Uncle Doug Hartman.
