Pawtucket – Ian R. Warner, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen D. (Tompkins) Warner. Born in England, he was the son of the late Ira A. and Mary M. (Clarke) Warner. Ian made his home in Pawtucket, where he met Kathleen at a school dance. The two shared thirty-four wonderful years together, thirty-two of them as husband and wife. Together they raised four children, and his family was his greatest joy - he loved them deeply. A passionate sports fan, Ian cheered for the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees, San Francisco 49ers, and Raiders. He also had a lifelong love of boxing, both as a fan and as a young man who stepped into the ring himself. Known for his warmth, positivity, and easygoing nature, Ian left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Even during illness, he remained strong and never complained. His legacy lives on in his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness, laughter, and unwavering optimism. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by four loving children, Nia Warner of Providence, Alexis Warner and her partner, Randy, of Pawtucket, Victoria Warner and her partner, Kevin, also of Pawtucket, and Tiffany Warner and her fiancé, Trevor, of Warwick; four adoring grandchildren, Aaliyah, Sophia, Aniyah and Josiah; two siblings, Tracey Harris and Grantley Warner; his beloved Boxer, Tyson, and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Christine Warner and held memories of her close to his heart throughout his life. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences welcomed at www.trippfuneralhome.com.
