Ila L. Fiebig, age 95, of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at home. She was born September 10, 1927, at home on the Armbruster homestead to Herbert and Beatrice (Finkbeiner) Armbruster. Ila married Arthur Fiebig on October 8, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2009.
Ila graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1946. In 1949, Art and Ila founded Fiebig Jewelers in Jonesville and later expanded, opening a second location in Sturgis in 1979. Together they owned and operated the stores until their retirement in 1991, when their son Jim took ownership. For many years, they enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, Florida and spending time with friends and family at their homes in Jonesville and Caseville. Ila was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsdale.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Jared Arthur Fiebig, and Chad Nettleman; two great-grandchildren, Alaina, and James Arthur Fiebig; one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Fiebig; and her close friends, Jim and Penny Sarles and their family.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Ila was preceded in death by one son, James Fiebig, and one brother, Donald Armbruster.
