Imogene Adams, 94, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 in Pampa.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Weatherly, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Imogene was born on June 16, 1927 in Plaska to Benjamin and Dottie Phillips Upton. She was raised in Memphis where she resided for several years until she moved to El Paso. Imogene lived in El Paso for a brief time before moving to Pampa in 1955. She worked as cook at Pampa Nursing Center and as a seamstress for Marie Foundations before her retirement. Imogene enjoyed crocheting, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. She always wanted to be involved in whatever was going on around her, whether that be water fights outside or cooking in the kitchen with family, she just wanted to have fun. Imogene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Charles Newsome and Harold Summers; six siblings, Clarence Upton, Appalone Davis, Dorothy Searl, Drucilla Totty, June Goodwin, and Donald Upton; and three grandchildren, Matt Newsome, Duncan Newsome, and Trinidee Underwood.
Imogene is survived by her four children, Jack Newsome, Pat Newsome, Don Summers and wife Gayla, and Jeanette Medley, all of Pampa; four grandchildren, Brian Newsome, Wade Newsome, Tausha Robinson, and Jeremy Medley; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Trinidee Underwood Fund at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2410 W 23rd Ave, Pampa, Texas, 79065 or Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Pkwy, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
