She was born the daughter of Everett and Delma (Williams) Wood on December 30, 1960 in Wellington, Kansas. Iris attended schools locally and graduated from Wellington High School in 1978.
Iris was a very proud mother and grandmother. Her daughter and two granddaughters were the light of her life.
Survivors include her mother, Delma Wood of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Callie DeLain and husband Daniel of Caldwell, Kansas; granddaughters: Riley and River DeLain of Caldwell, Kansas; sister, Julia Stallbaumer and husband Roger of Wellington, Kansas; sister, Betty Wimberly of Wellington, Kansas; and sister, Mary Green and husband Mark of Wellington, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett E. Wood Jr.; brother, Everett E. Wood III; sister, Nita Nadine Elkins; brother in-law, Jim Duroy; brother in-law, Kent Simpson; and her beloved cat, Nikki.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Iris at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be given in her memory to the Wellington Humane Society, PO Box 494, Wellington, Kansas 67152. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
