Iris Margarita Zamot

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Iris Margarita Zamot, who departed this world on October 28, 2025, in Miami, Florida. Born on July 22, 1935, in Isabella, Puerto Rico.

Margarita was preceded in death by her son, Rafael Jr., and is survived by her daughters: Iris, Miriam, Lucy, Alicia, Ana, Norma, and Nancy. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted housewife, taking immense pride in caring for her home. Her home was always a sanctuary for her and the delicious aroma of her famous arroz con pollo and arroz con gandules will be missed.

Margarita was not only a remarkable cook but also a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed shopping, spending time in her yard, and maintaining a home that was always squeaky clean. Her love for music was infectious; she could often be found listening to her favorite tunes, filling her home with melodies that brought comfort and happiness to all around her.

She was a woman of Catholic faith. Her faith was a guiding light in her life.

As we reflect on Margarita's life, we remember her ability to make every moment memorable. Her strong spirit and unwavering love for her family will be cherished forever.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m., Followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00p.m. to honor the beautiful life of Iris Margarita Zamot. In this time of sorrow, we celebrate a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many and left an indelible mark on our hearts.
