Isabel Evans, age 98 of Charlotte Court House, passed away on February 19, 2025 in Farmville. She was the daughter of the late Sonny Watson and Berta Marshall Watson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur T. Evans, Sr; brothers, Sonny Watson, Jr., Robert Lee Watson, and James Gray Watson; sisters, Inez Price Britton Moore, Dorothy Casper, Louise Brooks, Beulah Sheppard, Mary Pierce, and Gladys Clarke; step-children, Arthur T. Evans, Jr., James Evans, Clifford Evans, Russell Evans, Sr. Melissa Hardy and Mary Elam; grandsons, Johnny Evans, Daniel Evans, Floyd Elam, Jr. Ray Evans, Calvin Hancock, Jr. and Tony Roberts; granddaughters, Cynthia Elam, Brenda Lucas and Wanda Capers; brothers-in-law, Herbert "Hootie" Evans, and Nathaniel Evans; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Marshall, and Mary Alice Williams; daughters-in-law, Chris R. Evans, and Ella Marie Evans; special family, Millard and Harriet Rice and their beloved son, Albert Rice.
She is survived by her six daughters, Alberta Miller of Charlotte Court House, Gale Bolden (McKinley) of Brookneal, Nadine "Bonnie" Evans of Charlotte Court House, Regina Evans (Jeremiah) of Brookneal, Sylvia Waller (Garry) of Keysville, and Rochelle Hancock (Calvin, Sr.) of Phenix; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Jones of Crewe, Janie Porter of Crewe, Roberta Brown of Blackstone, and Catherine Good of Richmond; loving niece, Ruth Marshall; devoted daughter- in-law, Joyce Ann Evans; son-in-law, Hildred Hardy; bonus daughters, Ann Rice, Claire Hancock, Deborah Barksdale, and Rae Kizzie; The Brodgen family of Cedar Grove Farm, longtime friend, Beatrice Banks, longtime family friend, Minister James Price; and a host of other step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
