Isabel Hart Rush, 85 of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to her parents Henry Charles and Elizabeth McCaw Hart. She graduated from Salisbury State University in Maryland with a teaching degree. She taught school in upstate New York and Maryland. She was a pilot, and past President of The League of Women Voters in Maryland. After moving to Tallahassee, she worked at 211 Big Bend. She volunteered to help children read and volunteered with the Florida State University medical students. She was an avid reader, loved to walk and swam every morning with her friends. She loved to travel, entertain friends and family, but her favorite passion was spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving family, husband Jack L. Rush, daughter Rhonda Strainese and husband Dennis, son Mitch Rush and Ellen Rushing; grandchildren Kyle Leonard, and Morgan Faas and husband Mat; great grandchildren Lucy Leonard, Arian Faas, Coen Faas, and Kaia Faas. She is preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Bevis Funeral Home. The family will have a reception following the service in the Bevis event room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or the Big Bend Hospice House. Dayne Parker of Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the Rush family with their arrangements.
