Isabelle Louise Lee, 88, of Virginia Beach, peacefully passed away on May 1, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on September 10, 1936, to Louise Long and John Gallanagh, Isabelle was a woman of quiet strength, warm humor, and enduring devotion to those she loved. Raised in the Catholic faith and educated in Catholic schools, Isabelle carried her values and strong work ethic throughout her life. She worked as a dedicated bookkeeper for more than 40 years, supporting several businesses with loyalty and precision until her retirement in 2001. Isabelle was a vibrant spirit with a love for life's simple pleasures. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, and later, she found joy in the excitement of slot machines at the casino. She also loved a good game of bingo or bunco, and she cherished time spent outdoors. Whether laughing with her family or sharing quiet moments with her beloved toy poodle, Lexi, Isabelle's warmth and presence made those around her feel at home. For the past 16 years, Isabelle made her home in West Neck Villages of Virginia Beach, where she built lasting friendships and enjoyed her community. Her family meant everything to her, and she took pride in being a devoted mother, grandmother, and companion. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Johnson (Charles Johnson); her cherished grandchildren, Jessa Johnson and Scott Johnson; and her faithful four-legged friend, Lexi. Isabelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Howard Lee; her parents, Louise and John Gallanagh; her brother, Daniel Gallanagh (Dot); and her sisters, Catherine Andrea (Robert) and Annamae McCarey (Thomas). In keeping with Isabelle's wishes, all services will be private. The family appreciates your kind thoughts and well wishes during this time of remembrance. May her memory be a blessing, and may those who loved her find comfort in knowing her spirit lives on in the laughter, kindness, and love she so freely gave.
