Isabelle Adelaide Locker

The family of Isabelle A (Pennington/Simpkins) Locker announce her passing. Born and raised in Millville, Isabelle was a resident of Autumn Lake at Calvert Manor in Rising Sun, MD when she passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
She is survived by daughter, Barbara Simpkins Rhubart (Jerry) and son Wayne Simpkins. She is also survived by sisters Carol Hooven of Millville, NJ, Rose Coulton (Richard) of Brooksville, FL and brother Jack Pennington (Sandy) of Vineland, NJ. Her extended surviving family includes many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and nieces and nephews.
Isabelle was predeceased by sons Paul C Simpkins, Jr. and Robert R. Simpkins, husband George P. Locker, Jr, parents Harry and Isabelle Pennington, sister Eleanor Gale and brothers Herb, Frank and Junior.
Born in Millville NJ in 1928, she was for many years active in youth sports and organizations in the Millville area. She was an owner of two local restaurants, The Kozy Korner at Broad and Buck Street and 2nd and Main Street locations, later working at several different local restaurants.
She moved to Carter Lake, IA following the death of her husband George P. Locker in 2002. During her 14 years in Iowa, she was very active in volunteer work, in particular with the Senior Center of Carter Lake and was Senior Citizen of the Year in 2008 through her dedication and volunteer activities.
Returning to Millville in 2016, she then moved to the Delaware/Maryland area in 2018.
Relatives and friends are invited to join together in remembrance on Thursday November 16, 2023, at the Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, with a memorial service and celebration of Isabelle's life starting at 7:00 pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local food bank in honor of Isabelle. Memories and condolences may be shared using the tribute wall tab.
