Isabelle Ione Wideman

With deepest sorrow, the family of Isabelle Ione (Street) Wideman announces her peaceful passing on September 17, 2025, at the age of 101, in Bloomington, Minnesota. Isabelle was born to parents Orvin and Gladys (Fisher) Street on November 29, 1923, as the second of four children. She was raised on a farm near Ithaca, Michigan, attended a one-room schoolhouse, graduated from Ithaca High School in 1941, and later earned her bachelor's degree in Library Sciences and English from Central Michigan University, in 1953. Isabelle was a WWII widow at 21 (Lieutenant Arner Miles Douglas, d. 1944). She married her high school classmate, Glenn Wideman, on April 11, 1954, after he returned from service in WWII and Korea. Together, they had two sons, Randy (Linda, d. 2015) and Roderick (Mary). She worked as a high school librarian after college and later as a real estate agent. Isabelle loved to dance her whole life and was line-dancing until she was 92. She loved to read and share wonderful stories about her life. Isabelle is survived by her sons, her grandchildren, Karey (Jason) Kahout, Ryan (Regan) Wideman, Natalie Wideman, and Matthew Wideman. She is also survived by her three wonderful great-grandchildren, Liana and Jaxson Kohout and Zion Widemnan. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Ellen (Webster) Kellogg, Keith (Joyce) Street, and Orlin (Emmalee) Street, as well as Miles, Glenn, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Wideman. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 12, at 1 PM with visitation from 12 noon to 1 PM at Washburn-McReavy Werness Brothers Bloomington Chapel, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN. Interment at Ithaca City Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. Regarded as one of the hardest-working and loving people, Isabelle will be deeply missed.
