Ivan Aldridge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruegg Funeral Home - Williamsville on Oct. 14, 2025.
Ivan Eugene Aldridge, 79, of Williamsville, MO, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, August 20, 1946, to parents Ely Jefferson and Myrtle Eboline (Burris) Aldridge.
Ivan was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, brother, and friend. On December 29, 1984, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Brewer. Together they shared many wonderful years and were blessed with two children.
Ivan was a professional wrestler in the early 1970's and was well known by many as The Big Ox and Bro. Ivan. He dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others. He was the Chief Deputy Police Officer in Crawford County for seventeen and a half years. Before taking that position, he proudly served as a police officer in Poplar Bluff and the city of Cuba. After leaving law enforcement, Ivan took to the open road as an over-the-road truck driver, later operating a trucking company for several years.
In his younger days, Ivan enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing-especially traveling to Colorado for elk hunts. In his later years, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He also found peace and pleasure watching hundreds of hummingbirds that visited his home each day, making sure all seventeen of their feeders were always full.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, of nearly forty-one years; children: Jason Aldridge of Memphis, TN, Jared Aldridge and significant other Tabitha Porter of Poplar Bluff; honorary children: Carley and Alex Hedrick; grandchildren: Lexi, Kannon, Kenadie, Kruz, Keagan, Koah, Carsyn, Ember, Synnica, and Shyla; sisters: Louise Boyer of Ellsinore, Freda Dunning and husband Chuck of Williamsville; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Ivan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
