Ivana "Mustac" Glavan

Ivana Glavan, 94, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Born in Privlaka, Croatia, on the Adriatic coastline near the city of Zadar, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Grgica (Pavlovic) Mustac. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1968 and made Clifton her home for more than 50 years.

Ivana was employed as a sewing operator in the garment industry in Clifton and Passaic for over 11 years. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Clifton. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling with her family, and especially creating beautiful needlepoint works to decorate her home.

Ivana was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Sime Glavan; her brothers Ante, Fortunato, Sime, and Vinko Mustac; and her sister, Nediljka (Mustac) Glavan. She is survived by her loving sons, Zdravko (Zee) Glavan and Zoran Glavan, both of Clifton.

She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Angela Weidner and husband Rick, with their sons Christopher and Andrew; Grace Kochanik and husband Mike, with their sons Alex and Jon; Sharon Patterson and husband Gary, with their children Nicole and Ryan; Tanya Guzman and husband Nestor, with their children Nina and Nico; David Mustac and wife Angela, with their children Bella and Lucas; Alen Mustac and wife Jacke, with their sons Luka and Alek; and Frank Mustac.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, beginning at 9:45 a.m. at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Visiting will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
