Ivey Clinton Cook age 87 of Ferrum passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. 

Ivey Cook was born on July 15, 1937, the son of Ivey and Lessie Cook in Forest Hill, LA. He was preceded in death by all of his immediate family members and one nephew. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Inez Cook; his family, George Cook, Nancy Cook, Dr. Stephen Cook, Joyce Quinn and Debbie Shively. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends. 

Ivey had been a part of Franklin County since 1988 when he became store manager of Schewels Furniture in Rocky Mount. On April 6, 1996, he married his wife, Inez. After retiring from Schewels, he served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for The Phoebe Needles Center. He was active in the Lions Clubs until his death. 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Jones and Dr. Caleb Walker officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 AM.
