J. Matthew Miller

Matt Miller, 61, passed away at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born December 28, 1963 in Cambridge, Ohio. He was the son of Janet Miller Stump and the late Frank Miller.
Matt was a 1982 graduate of Barnesville High School and a 1986 graduate of Ohio University. Matt worked in sales for many years, most recently with A Plus Contractors. Helping customers, friends, and family made him so happy.
Matt enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. His easy smile, wonderful sense of humor and love of music will be remembered by all who knew him. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Cheffy Miller of Barnesville; his son, Sean Miller of Denver, Colorado; his daughter, Maggie Miller of Cincinnati; stepsons, Ross (Maddie) Demmel of Asheville, North Carolina and John Paul Demmel of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Josie, Gray, and Blaire. He is also survived by his brother, Tom (Diana) Miller of Columbus; his in-laws, John and Mary Ann Cheffy; and his OU family, many cousins, a niece, a nephew, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00pm with Father Dave Cornett officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Matt's memory to the American Heart Association or the National MS Society.
