Brenda Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Danner Funeral Home - Abilene from Sep. 19 to Oct. 1, 2025.
Brenda Faye Miller first graced this world with her presence on July 12, 1956. She left us to mourn and miss her here on September 19, 2025, at the age of 69. Brenda graduated from Chapman High School in 1974; and from Fort Hays State University in 1978. She was first married to Dennis Schmidt; and they divorced.
Brenda was a loan officer with Small Business Administration in Wichita for close to 30 years. She worked with businesses and banks across Kansas, and was highly respected by customers and co-workers. She received numerous commendations for her work. During that time, she married Mike Murray, later divorcing.
Brenda was a lover of all things nature-related. The mountains was a favorite place for her to be. On weekends when she would come to visit from Wichita, she always would go help her dad work in the wooded areas on farm ground, where they would trim, cut, and spray trees. She was a willing helper to all of us in all ways. Brenda could see what needed to be done to assist; and always did so. As the Parkinson's Disease and other health issues progressed, her lack of ability became discouraging for her. And yet, Brenda's legacy will obviously be her positive attitude through it all, plus an unending amount of wit and humor. She moved to Abilene in 2013.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Regina Miller; and one brother, Harold Miller, all of the Upland area. She is survived by a sister, Sharon (Kenneth) Chase of Talmage; and a brother, Neil (Lisa Leist) Miller of Los Angeles, California; Sister-in-law, Colleen Miller; nieces, nephews, and so many good and caring friends.
Donations in support of the local Parkinson's support movement can be made out to Memorial Health Foundation, memo to include either Parkinson's Fund or in memory of Brenda Miller. This will continue the established fund that allows local Parkinson's group persons to benefit with cost sharing at Impact Sports for classes and equipment used in the betterment of their condition. And Brenda used these services right to the very end. If sending directly to this fund, the address is 418 N. Broadway, Abilene, Kansas.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Talmage Community Church, with a memorial service at 10:30. There will be a lunch at the Talmage Library and Event Center where Brenda served as a board member. Following that will be burial of ashes at Liberty Cemetery, Upland, Kansas.
Danner Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

I always enjoyed conversations with Brenda. She also kept me up on how Regina was doing when she got sick. The older I get and the more of our family members go on to be with the Lord, the more I look forward to our reunion.

Brenda......Your bright eyes and your ability to put on a smile when you needed was always there. I'll miss you and our friendship.

Brenda was best friends with my sister Gayle through high school and beyond. I was just the tag-along kid sister.
The only time I skipped school was as a freshman. They were seniors and I wanted to be cool like them. They laughed about it. I cried in the office of the asst principal - I never tried it again
Most of my imitations of the "big girls" were more edifying.
You leave us with blessed memories Brenda. Our hearts feel empty. But, heaven is rejoicing! You are home.
