J. C. Rector, 83, of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his residence. He was born on December 13, 1939, in Columbia, KY to the late Sam and Nina Stargel Rector.
Mr. Rector attended the Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding side by sides, talking on his C B radio where he was known as "Whistler" and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include four children Jeff Rector (L A) of Louisville, KY, Steve Rector of Versailles, KY, Lisa Rector Jones of Nicholasville, KY, and Jason Rector of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Anthony Rector (Heather), Jacob Jones, Carmon Rector, and Nakisha Stargel; three great grandchildren Amillia Rector-Gray, Sawyer Rector, and Bryson Derifield; a sister Nelda Wolford (Randall) of Louisville, KY; a special friend James "Jim" Caswell of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children Helen Faye Burton Rector, two brothers J. W. and Jerry Rector, and four sisters Clementine Rector Hale, Susie Rector Goodin, Jewell Rector Belton, and Linda Rector Kerns.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Monday, April 17, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Tarter Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Troy Grider will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Steven Rector, Carmon Rector, Jim Caswell, Jason Caswell, Jonathan Caswell, and Anthony Rector.
