Jack Lynn "Jackie" Denton

Jack "Jackie" Denton of Babson Park passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Winter Haven Hospital.
He was born January 7, 1943 at Winter Haven Hospital to the late Leon and Gladys Denton.
Jack was raised on the Kissimmee River at Camp Mack. He lettered in 4 sports at Lake Wales High School and continued to play football at Lenoir Rhyne College.
Jack was a true sportsman and loved hunting, fishing and diving for lobster. But, most of all he enjoyed watching his boys, and later his grandchildren, play sports. Jack was a huge supporter of Lake Wales High School athletics and a Florida Gator Booster in good times and bad. He loved his job selling "empty boxes" and he also loved his customers who became lifelong friends
Jack is preceded in death by his son, Donnie Denton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Ramsay Denton; son, Andy Denton and wife Candy of Babson Park, brother, Ronnie Denton and wife Jane of Lake Wales; and grandchildren, Lydia, Lilah, and Luke.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales with Rev. Mackay Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
